Checkered Textured Washcloth (16×16 Knit Pattern)

Simple, practical, and made for everyday use.

This washcloth started with a simple request. My husband asked for a washcloth that actually worked for him. Traditional sizes felt too small, especially since he is tall. So, I decided to create something larger and more functional.

Instead of making another standard washcloth, I designed this 16×16 washcloth. The extra size makes a difference. It feels more comfortable to use and easier to use when he is bathing.

At the same time, I wanted the texture to stay simple. This pattern creates a soft checkered effect without being complicated. It is easy to follow and works well for beginners.

If you are looking for a larger, textured washcloth that is both practical and calming to knit, this is a great place to start.

Final Thoughts

This washcloth is a reminder that simple changes can make a big difference. A slightly larger size can turn something ordinary into something more useful.

As you knit, take your time and enjoy the rhythm of the pattern. This is a piece you can use daily or gift to someone who would appreciate a more practical size.

If you try this pattern, I would love to see how it turns out for you.
